Carolyn Warner Legacy Scholarship Award - Supporting Career and Technical Education Pathways

Founder of Jobs for Arizona’s Graduates (JAG), Carolyn Warner established a great legacy of supporting the career and education goals of youth, particularly those pursuing technical education and certificate pathways. The Carolyn Warner Legacy Award is endowed by the family and friends of Carolyn Warner. Her service to the state of Arizona as a champion of public education and advocate for JAG and Career and Technical Education (CTE) last for over 60 years. Just as Carolyn embodied the attributes of a servant leader, this award given in her name celebrates young people pursuing career and technical education pathways to support the evolving Arizona economy.

PURPOSE: Overcome barriers to allow them to be successful. To support the continuing education of JAG students who demonstrate a passion and commitment to pursue CTE related career pathways.

REQUIREMENTS:
Eligible applicants must be:

  • A current or previous JAG student.
  • Pursuing an education program (certificate or degree) that relates to a career and technical education pathway.
  • Identifies as a student of color

APPLICANT INTERVIEWS: Applicants may be invited to participate in an applicant interview prior to the award decision. Applicants will be notified via email if an interview is requested.

UPON AWARD, APPLICANTS WILL BE ASKED TO PROVIDE:
1. Verification of application and/or admittance to the post-secondary program of your choice.
2. Updated information for other financial aid sources (FAFSA, scholarships, etc.) as applicable.

APPLICANT INTERVIEWS: Applicants may be invited to participate in an applicant interview prior to the award decision. Applicants will be notified via email if an interview is requested.

AWARD: If awarded, the Dougherty Foundation will release the scholarship award directly to the college or institution at which the awardees are enrolled. Failure to enroll in the college or the institution where the funds will be released will result in the forfeiture of the award.

AWARD ANNOUNCEMENT: Scholarship winners will be announced at the Career Development Conference, on April 11, 2024. Verification of enrollment will be required before scholarship payment distribution occurs.
